SHT 01The approach
01The AF approachDesign thinking before fabrication
Made for the room.Built for the life inside it.
Custom work doesn't succeed because it photographs well. It succeeds because the room, the way it has to function, the materials and the daily touch points were all resolved together — before anything reached the saw.
Understand the space
Every project begins with understanding the room—what it needs to hold and how it will actually be used.
Draw before cutting
2D drawings and 3D models allow you to visualize the room before it is built—and make changes before construction begins.
Finish what we start
Design, fabrication, demolition, and installation are handled by one team—from start to finish.
SHT 02Capabilities
02CapabilitiesThe work, still and in motion
Custom work,across the home.
Rooms as they were built, and films of the things a photograph cannot show you — doors opening, drawers running, light moving across a surface.
03One resolved spaceSeparate choices becoming one composition
Every detailcomes together.
Material, storage, circulation, lighting, hardware and finish all begin as separate decisions. The project only succeeds when those pieces resolve into one calm, complete room.

From first ideato final fit.
Custom work is easier to trust when you can see what is being decided, when it is decided, and who is holding it.

Every project starts with the same conversation about the space.
AF WoodWorker began as a passion project between Ahmed and Fernando, combining engineering and craftsmanship to build modern, sleek, fully customised cabinetry. It grew from a small operation into a full-scale one, and today runs out of a professional workshop in Richmond, California with a skilled team doing the design and the making.

SHT 06Materials in context
06Materials in contextOne room, one variable
Material is partof the architecture.
Species, core, hardware and finish are chosen at drawing stage, together — not picked from a sample board at the end.
Materials
Solid hardwoods, veneers, plywood, MDF and specialty panels — chosen for the design, the use, and the finish it has to take.
Finishes
Staining, painting, clear coats and specialty finishes, prepared and applied under one roof.
Hardware
Soft-close hinges, drawer slides and storage systems, chosen to keep working long after handover.
